Position: Principal Data Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Bangalore (3 days in-office at Bellandur, 2 days remote)

Contract Type: Contract to Permanent (6 to 12 months)

We're looking for a Principal Data Engineer to be part of our dynamic Data Governance team. If you're passionate about data quality, process automation, and developing groundbreaking solutions to improve data across global organizations, we want to hear from you

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize data pipelines, data quality audit tools, and automations to ensure the integrity of data across all domains. You will work closely with stakeholders to define business rules and create solutions that meet strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality & Governance: Develop and implement data quality audit tools and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborative Development: Work with data scientists, business analysts, and domain SMEs to define business rules and data quality metrics.
  • Celonis Platform: Build, customize, and optimize data models, apps, and automations on the Celonis platform to drive insights and process improvements.
  • End-to-End Data Integration: Design and implement data pipelines from internal and external data sources (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow).
  • Enterprise Tool Integration: Ensure seamless integration of Celonis apps with other enterprise systems.
  • Automation & Optimization: Create automated workflows and optimize large-scale data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Documentation & Support: Maintain documentation of business rules, data processes, and technical solutions while providing ongoing support for Celonis applications.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in Data Engineering, Data Governance, or similar fields.
  • Celonis Expertise: Experience working with Celonis or similar platforms (e.g., process mining, app development, automation).
  • Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and experience with data engineering practices.
  • Enterprise Systems: Knowledge of enterprise systems (SAP, Salesforce, etc.) and integrating data from these systems into Celonis.
  • Cloud & Distributed Systems: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and distributed data systems.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Problem Solving: Results-driven with a track record of delivering complex projects ahead of schedule.


Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with process automation and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Scrum Master/PO certifications and experience in business process modeling or process mining.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
