Dean - Head of Academics (Andheri East)

Salary range: Rs. 15-18 lacs per annum
Location of posting: Andheri East, Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for academic affairs that aligns with the institution's mission and vision, fostering innovation and excellence in teaching, research, and service.
2. Curriculum Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and review of academic programs and courses - ensuring relevance, rigour, and alignment with industry standards and trends.
3. Faculty Recruitment and Development: Recruit, retain, and mentor a diverse and talented faculty team, supporting their professional growth, scholarly activities, and teaching effectiveness.
4. Student Success: Implement initiatives to enhance student success, including academic advising, and support services tailored to the needs of the students.
5. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain processes for academic quality assurance, accreditation, and compliance with prescribed regulatory standards as per norms, ensuring continuous improvement in educational programs and services.
6. Research and Innovation: Promote a culture of research and innovation among faculty and students, facilitating collaborations, securing research projects, and fostering entrepreneurship in the gems & jewellery sector.
7. Industry Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, including jewellery manufacturers, designers, retailers, and trade associations, to enhance opportunities for experiential learning and internships.
8. Budget Management: Develop and manage the academic affairs budget, allocating resources effectively to support faculty and student needs, educational programs, research initiatives, etc.
9. Partnerships: Expand the institution's national and global reach & reputation through strategic partnerships, exchange programs, and collaborations with national and international institutions and organizations in the gems & jewellery sector.
10. Technology Integration: Champion integrating technology and digital learning tools into academic programs, enhancing the learning experience and preparing students for careers in a rapidly evolving industry.
11. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with the local community, alumni, and other stakeholders, promote awareness of the institution's contributions to the gems and jewellery sector, and facilitate opportunities for collaboration/support.
12. Data-driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and assessment tools to monitor academic performance, student outcomes, and faculty productivity, making data-driven decisions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
13. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all academic affairs, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
14. Professional Development: Stay abreast of trends, best practices, and innovations in higher education, gems & jewellery industry, and academic administration through continuous professional development and participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and networks.
