Seeking a seasoned Senior Database Administrator who would be pivotal in ensuring the security, availability, and performance of the organization's database systems.

Job Title : Senior Database Administrator (MSSQL DBA - L3)

Location : Mumbai, Fort

Experience : Minimum 8 years

Qualification : B.E./Diploma/BSc (No Academic Gap)

Key Responsibilities :

- Database Encryption : Implement and manage database encryption to protect sensitive data.


- Clustering : Set up and manage database clustering to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

- Tuning DB Parameters : Optimize database performance by tuning parameters and configurations.

- DB Migration : Plan and execute database migrations from versions 2017/19 to 2022.

- Always On :Configure and manage Always On availability groups for high availability and disaster recovery.

- Support to SQL DB L2 Team : Provide advanced support to the SQL DB L2 team for resolving critical issues.

- Incident Management : Handle major database incidents, respond promptly, and drive corrective actions. Correlate related incidents into problem tickets and manage through the problem management process.

- Trend Analysis and Problem Management : Use trend analysis to identify, categorize, prioritize, and create Problem Management Records.

- Database Restoration and Software Management : Restore databases and reinstall database software as necessary.

- Log Shipping and Replication : Reconfigure log shipping and manage transaction replication and failover clustering.

- Job Scheduling and Maintenance : Create and schedule jobs for routine maintenance and rebuild indexes.

- Database Logs and Performance Management : Purge database logs and trace files, defragment databases, and perform performance tuning.

- Service and Change Management : Manage all service requests through the change management process and automate administrative tasks where possible.

- Documentation and Monitoring : Maintain and update all database environment documentation.

- Monitor log and event files for error messages indicating potential failures.

- Ensure DR database availability and query monitoring.

- Log Replication and Event Monitoring : Monitor database log replication, event logs, and error details.

- Report the status of log replications as per agreed schedules.

- Performance and Configuration Review : Conduct periodic configuration reviews and provide recommendations to maintain consistent configurations.

- Provide monthly reports on database availability.

- Failure Monitoring : Monitor the database for failures and logged system events indicating imminent failures.

Skills and Qualifications :

- In-depth knowledge of database encryption, clustering, and performance tuning.

- Proven experience in database migration, especially from 2017/19 to 2022 versions.

- Expertise in Always On, log shipping, and transaction replication.

- Strong incident management and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with automation of administrative tasks and maintenance of documentation.

- Excellent monitoring and reporting skills, with a focus on proactive failure prevention.
