Tableau Support Administrator

We're looking for a Tableau support engineer at Randstad Global IT Services

In order for Randstad to achieve its' ambitious strategy it is moving to a globally harmonized future state operating model. Standardization of tools and processes will support and drive this (digital) transition. Within the data & analytic space Randstad is implementing Tableau Cloud as its one-stop-shop analytics platform across our 39 markets and in support of nearly 30k users. The tableau services team's mission is to inspire and empower everyone at Randstad to unlock the value potential from our data by leveraging the power of tableau.

We are looking to strengthen our global tableau services team with a tableau developer. In this role you will take on a wide range of responsibilities varying from development of new Tableau products as well as performing change requests and providing support on a portfolio of existing Tableau products.

Your typical day includes :

Your day starts by checking the general mailbox, there might be a support request from a colleague in the United States that came in during the night. After which you update your tickets in the team's Kan Ban board in Jira. This way you are fully prepared for the team's stand up at 10 am CET.

On today's agenda is a requirements session with a stakeholder that has a few change requests on an existing dashboard. It seems easy but you need to ask more questions to verify that assumption. After which you can start updating the Jira ticket and do a final check with the team and stakeholders. Before you start the development work. Once the requirements are confirmed, you update the Jira ticket. You go through a final check with the relevant stakeholders and the Global Tableau team before you start the development work

This afternoon you plan to look at one of the dashboards the team is using for internal use. You found it slow and have some ideas to increase performance. There's also an open ticket on a small bug that you hope to resolve.

You didn't get all the work done today you planned as there was an error on one of the dashboards in your support portfolio. You've been on chat and eventually on videocall with a colleague in Belgium to get this resolved. You saved the day with a quick fix, but you have also created a ticket to come up with a structural solution.

This is a role in a highly dynamic international environment. You'll have to work closely with our many operating companies across the globe. Therefore you'll be busy building an international network of colleagues across the Randstad organization.

You will be responsible for :

- Offering support on a portfolio of Tableau products to various stakeholders across the organization - troubleshooting and small change requests

- Work closely with, and support, the global tableau site admin on on various Tableau content & development topics

- Own and support various Tableau Dashboards used by the global tableau services team, like our adoption & monitoring dashboards, training dashboards and measurement of success dashboard

- Adhering to the Agile methodology that guides and structures the workflow within the global tableau team

- Assist in monitoring and answering questions of our Tableau users on various support channels

- Understand the rationale/business reasons behind the Tableau Cloud site configuration and automation tool

- Raise, collaborate and implement ideas for automation to manage the scale of the solution

- Monitor and action dashboard support requests in the background

- Significant experience and high proficiency in tableau (desktop) development (4 years +)

- Comprehensive understanding in the administration of users, content, permissions and projects in tableau, cloud is a plus

- BI development experience / background is a plus

- Problem solving/troubleshooting experience/skills to assist production support in issue resolution

- Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must be able to interface with both technical and business leaders in the organization)

- You have a bachelor or master degree in a relevant field

- A solid understanding of why and how governance is applied to application and processes to create trust in its data sources and dashboards

- Strong collaborative interpersonal skills to work across diverse, global teams

- Strong sense of commitment to deliver

- Basic proficiency working with JIRA, Confluence, or similar product management tools

- The following would be desirable but not essential: familiarity with Google work place, Big query and Salesforce

- Having a Tableau Public profile where you have published your own visualizations over time is a plus
