Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of Design & Engineering of Solar PV Projects.
  • Hands on Experience of PV Syst and AutoCad.
  • Hands on Experience of StadPro.
  • Ability to lead IDT & Power Transformer Design reviews.
  • Ability to track and close MDL with EPC contractors or Engineering Consultants.
  • Understanding of renewable power evacuation systems (substations, transmission lines).
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, grid integration, and energy storage solutions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Job Purpose:

The Candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design & engineering of Solar PV Projects. The ideal candidate shall have hands on experience of design & engineering of Solar PV Projects or thru EPC contractors / engineering consultants. The role ensures projects are engineered to the highest standards of safety, quality, performance, and cost-efficiency, enabling long-term asset value for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Engineering & Design

  • Lead detailed engineering for solar PV projects, from concept to commissioning.
  • Evaluate site-specific conditions (land, solar resource, topography, soil, hydrology, etc.) for technical feasibility.
  • Develop plant layout, electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with grid codes, regulatory norms, and utility interconnection requirements.
  • Review and finalize module mounting structures, inverters, transformers, and BoS (Balance of System) designs.

2. Technical Evaluation & Optimization:

  • Conduct energy yield assessments and performance simulations (PVSyst etc.)
  • Optimize project design to achieve lowest LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) while ensuring reliability.
  • Undertake technology benchmarking and selection (modules, inverters, storage, trackers).
  • Review new technologies (HJT / Perovskite modules, hybrid systems, BESS, SCADA/automation).

3. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project development, land, regulatory, and commercial teams for seamless project lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering support for bids, RFP responses, and financial models.
  • Support O&M teams with technical troubleshooting and performance improvement plans.

Travel Requirements:

Travel to project sites are expected to ensure that there is no gap in the design & engineering and execution.
