Overview :


As a data modeler, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various business applications and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including data architects, database administrators, software developers, and business analysts to ensure that data models meet the requirements of stakeholders and adhere to best practices in data management.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Modeling :


- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business requirements and industry standards. Translate business requirements into data models that support data warehousing, reporting, analytics, and application development.

Data Analysis :


- Analyze existing data structures and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization. Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models.

Database Design :


- Collaborate with database administrators and developers to design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and constraints. Optimize database performance and scalability through effective data modeling techniques.

Data Governance :


- Enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and privacy. Define data naming conventions, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories to facilitate data management and documentation.

Requirements Gathering :


- Work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit and document data requirements. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Technical Leadership :


- Provide technical leadership and guidance on data modeling best practices, methodologies, and tools. Mentor junior data modelers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote knowledge sharing and skills development.

Documentation and Communication :


- Document data models, data flows, and data mappings using standard modeling notations and tools. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

- Proven experience as a data modeler or database designer in a corporate environment.

- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.

- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. And also on Snowflake, Databricks.

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data integration techniques, and data modeling best practices.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certification in data modeling or database administration (e.g., CDMP, Oracle Certified Professional).

- Experience with NoSQL databases, big data technologies, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
