Responsibilities

·         The coordination of all technical matters in line with Company policies, maritime rules and regulations and industry standards.

·         Organizing and implementing courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.

·         Instructing, coordinating and monitoring works/repairs.

·         Maintaining a close knowledge of maintenance, condition and operation of assigned vessels and for advising/co-operating with onboard personnel and mainly the Chief Engineer in order to ensure that vessels are operating efficiently.

·         Co-operating with the Marine Superintendent to achieve optimum vessels’ performance consistent with the assigned vessels’ commercial obligations.

·         Attending vessels at ports of call at appropriate intervals to ensure technical condition, performance and repairs.

·         Providing training and advice to shipboard personnel as necessary.



Qualifications

•Class 1 Marine Engineer with minimum 2 years’ experience on Senior rank on board tankers, chemical tankers, Gas tankers. Previous rank experience in a similar position will be an added consideration.

•Must be fluent in English and able to work in a multicultural environment 

•Interest in working with quality systems such as ISM and ISO 9001 and 14001 

•Experience with Oil Major Inspections  

•Experience in budget planning and control  

•Experience in preparation and execution of dry-dockings  

•Good communication skills  

•Good organisational skills  

•Able to coordinate and work under pressure  

•Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel)  

•Willing to travel on a regular basis  

•Team player
