We at Rocket Software are looking forSoftware Engineer III (Mainframe Assembler, HLASM)role. Job Overview: The Software Engineer-III designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines software’s compatibility with hardware and/or influences software's design in relation to hardware.Required Qualifications 7+ years of professional experiencein z/OS systems programming, security, or product engineering. Strong proficiency inIBM AssemblerandREXX. Deep understanding ofz/OS internals(APF, SVC, PC, cross-memory services, control blocks). Demonstrated expertise insystem dump reading and analysis. Exposure toRACF, ACF2, and Top Secret—with working knowledge of security profiles, rules, and access controls. Solid debugging and problem-solving skills in complex mainframe environments. Ability towork independently at a mid-senior level, while collaborating closely with global, cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications Experience with project management tools like Jira Prior contribution tosecurity-focused mainframe tools or utilities.
