About the Role :


We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator - HPC Linux to manage and optimize a state-of-the-art High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment. In this role, you will oversee supercomputing systems, ensuring their stability, efficiency, and scalability to power complex workloads. This position demands a proactive, collaborative individual with deep expertise in Linux-based HPC environments, system performance optimization, and advanced networking.

What You'll Do Responsibilities :


- Manage a high-performing HPC grid, ensuring optimal uptime and resource availability.


- Collaborate with developers and end-users to enhance system efficiency and stability.


- Monitor and optimize workload distribution for fairness and resource adherence.


- Partner with infrastructure experts to sustain system performance and stability.

- Guide vendors and OEMs to meet the technical and operational demands of the HPC environment.

Must-Have Skills :


- HPC Linux Systems Management

- Administer Linux-based HPC clusters (Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian).

- Perform system-wide maintenance, kernel tuning, upgrades, and security hardening.

- Manage job scheduling systems like SLURM for configuration and optimization.

- System Performance Optimization

- Optimize HPC workloads using tools such as perf, sar, strace, and iotop.

- Address interdependencies across CPU, GPU, memory, and network resources.

- Validate performance benchmarks to meet acceptance criteria.

- Networking in HPC Environments

- Configure and monitor high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Ethernet).

- Implement advanced networking setups (VLANs, LACP, network namespaces).

- Manage secure and efficient data flow using iptables, nftables, or firewalld.

- Storage and Filesystem Management

- Oversee large-scale storage systems (RAID, LVM, Lustre, BeeGFS).

- Resolve storage bottlenecks and manage disaster recovery processes.

- Linux Kernel and Driver Expertise

- Customize and optimize Linux kernels for HPC environments.

- Debug and optimize GPU device drivers and low-level system configurations.

- Cluster and Container Orchestration

- Deploy and manage HPC clusters with Kubernetes and Singularity.

- Optimize resource scheduling and manage virtualized workloads (KVM, VMware, Proxmox).

- Automation and Scripting

- Develop advanced shell scripts (Bash, awk, sed) and automate workflows with tools like Ansible and Terraform.

What Sets You Experience :


- Expertise in GPU systems, CUDA profiling, and troubleshooting.


- Debugging and optimizing C programs using tools like gdb and valgrind.


- In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel subsystems (scheduling, memory management, Skills :


- Strong communication and collaboration skills to guide less-experienced users and developers.

- Analytical mindset to foresee and mitigate system-wide impacts of configuration changes.
