What’s the role

As a .NET software developer, you will build modern cloud-native solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. Design, Develop and support Cloud-Native applications, web APIs and microservices development using NET, NET Core and Containers in Azure.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, and client stakeholders to understand high-level requirements, develop software architecture and implement high-quality working software
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in the development team with the same willingness to learn.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that adheres to established coding standards
  • Design and develop secure, high-performance, fault-tolerant and high-available web applications, web APIs and microservices in C# targeting the .NET 8 platform, Microsoft Azure Cloud services and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Assess the current state of the build, release, testing, integration, and deployment and provide direction on identified gaps
  • Follow Agile Scrum ways of working, and participate in all sprint ceremonies, ensuring superb team collaboration, client engagement and iterative development and delivery of high-quality working software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing software across multiple environments
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices

What we need from you

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on C# software development experience in the design and implementation of highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems, web applications, functions and web APIs on the Microsoft .NET platform.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in leading a development team.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns, and object-oriented programming concepts with hands-on experience
  • Strong coding experience with Azure cloud services such as Azure Storage, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Durable Functions, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Services, Redis Cache, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Key Vault and similar
  • Previous experience with products and protocols such as Microsoft Entra, SAML, OpenID, and OAuth.
  • Experience in the incremental modernisation of monolith to distributed applications utilising strangler fig pattern or similar
  • Experience with containerised, synch/ asynch communication and message-oriented architecture
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting high-volume, complex transaction systems
  • Familiarity with modern frontend development frameworks (Angular, React, ASP.NET MVC, HTTP, HTML, JS, TS CSS, Ajax), Micro-frontends etc.
  • Experience in Test-Driven-Development (TDD), designing and writing unit and integration test cases and incorporating them in the build/ release process. Expertise in at least one testing framework such as NUnit, xUnit, MSTest or similar.
  • Being comfortable in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code regularly using Agile Scrum, CI/ CD tooling, embedded testing practices, quality gates and methodologies.
  • Experience with relational database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server and or PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework Core or similar
  • Relational database development experience and proficiency (writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing) with advanced SQL concepts such as complex joins, triggers, cursors, correlated sub-queries, analytic functions
  • Understanding of NoSQL database technologies such as Azure Cosmos DB, Apache Casandra etc.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Azure Log Analytics, Dynatrace or similar
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Attention to detail, resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
  • At least a BSc/ BA in Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of any other programming languages such as Python, Go, Shell, Terraform, Bicep and or GraphQL
  • Previous experience in developing and deploying solutions for Energy, Oil & Gas businesses
  • Understanding of ETL/ETL data pipelines on Azure
  • Understanding of CI/CD process using GitHub actions
  • Azure Certificates highly desirable: Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solution Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate or similar
