Job Role: Exterior Trims NPD Engineer - CATIAExperience: 5 to 12 YearsLocation: ChennaiKey Responsibilities:- Should have 5+ years of experience in automotive exterior trim design and New Part Development (NPD). - Expert in CATIA V5. - Strong expertise in Interior plastic product design principles, injection molding processes, material selection, and associated manufacturing constraints specific to exterior trims. - Thorough understanding of vehicle architecture, including aggregate groups, sub-groups, systems, and sub-systems, to ensure seamless product integration. - Proven ability to independently determine technical decisions in collaboration with engineering and supplier partners for design validation and release. - Experienced in conducting comprehensive benchmarking and packaging studies to define optimum trim locations and configurations on the vehicle. - Familiar with automotive safety standards and regulatory compliance affecting exterior trim design and development. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with styling teams translating aesthetic concepts into functional, manufacturable parts. - Skilled at evaluating manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility ensuring designs are practical and aligned with supplier capabilities. - Strong problem-solving skills paired with project management discipline and effective stakeholder communication.
