FinOps Cloud Automation Engineer(Python)

Experience - 5-10 yearsLocation - HyderabadWe are seeking a FinOps Cloud Automation Engineer (Python) to design, implement, and optimize automation workflows that support cloud financial management and cost optimization across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments. As a key member of the FinOps delivery team, you will work at the intersection of cloud engineering, financial governance, and data integration—developing scalable automation pipelines and tooling to enable measurable, sustainable cloud cost savings.This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Python skills, experience working with cloud APIs, and a passion for making complex cost optimization levers operational at scale. You will collaborate with program leads, data analysts, and cloud architects to identify savings opportunities, develop automation routines, and support the integration of cloud cost tooling into enterprise reporting and governance frameworks.- Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain automation scripts and pipelines (primarily in Python ) to support cloud cost optimization, tagging enforcement, and resource governance across CSPs. - Integrate and operationalize data from tools such as Cloudability , Azure Cost Management , AWS Cost Explorer , and GCP Billing . - Develop and maintain API-based workflows to extract, transform, and centralize cloud cost and usage data across platforms. - Implement and automate optimization actions such as resource rightsizing , auto-scheduling , reserved instance/commitment tracking , and unused resource cleanup . - Collaborate with data visualization and reporting teams to feed clean, normalized data into Power BI dashboards and KPI trackers. - Ensure tagging strategy compliance through automation routines and validation tooling. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of FinOps tooling, automation libraries, and integration playbooks. - Work in a globally distributed team following Agile/Scrum delivery practices. - Required Skills and Qualifications:5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, automation, or DevOps within a multi-cloud or enterprise IT environment - Advanced proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and API integration - Experience working with cloud cost and usage APIs , such as Azure Consumption APIs, AWS Cost Explorer APIs, or GCP Billing APIs - Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization concepts , including rightsizing, reservations, tagging, and scheduling - Familiarity with FinOps tooling such as Cloudability , CloudHealth , or equivalent native CSP tools - Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows , version control (e.g., Git), and basic infrastructure-as-code practices - Ability to design scalable, maintainable automation solutions aligned with enterprise financial KPIs - Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate across technical and business teams - Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with FinOps Frameworks or Cloud Financial Management principles - Experience contributing to or maintaining automation pipelines in platforms like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Terraform - Understanding of cloud governance frameworks, tagging policies, and cost allocation strategies - Exposure to Power BI or collaboration with data visualization teams - Experience supporting large-scale optimization initiatives across multiple business units or cost centers - Key Outcomes:Automated pipelines that support ongoing cloud cost optimization and validation - Scalable integrations across CSPs and tooling to centralize financial data for reporting - Implemented and validated cost savings through programmatic optimization levers - Streamlined support for tagging strategy execution and compliance monitoring - Improved execution velocity of FinOps backlog items through engineering automation - Why Work With Us:High-Impact Engineering: Help operationalize cloud cost efficiency in one of the world's largest and most complex IT environments - Automation at Scale: Build reusable, enterprise-ready automation solutions with measurable financial outcomes - Global Team Collaboration: Work alongside top-tier cloud engineers, analysts, and architects acrossIndia - Cutting-Edge Tooling: Leverage modern cloud APIs, FinOps tools, and cloud-native services in a mature multi-cloud environment - Purpose-Driven Outcomes: Contribute to a strategic transformation initiative with direct financial, operational, and business visibility
