About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer with hands-on experience in managing, optimizing, and scaling both SQL and NoSQL database systems in high-availability environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database replication, performance tuning, and cloud-native database solutions, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and automation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database systems using Cassandra, MongoDB, and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.

- Architect and manage replication strategies including active-active and active-passive setups to ensure data consistency and system resilience.

- Optimize and troubleshoot database performance issues across both NoSQL and SQL platforms.

- Automate database operations using scripting in Bash, Python, or Shell.

- Support and manage database deployments in Linux-based environments.

- Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate database systems with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.

- Implement and monitor database performance and availability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

- Manage and support on-premise and cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Contribute to database security, backup, and disaster recovery planning and execution.

- Stay updated on emerging database technologies and recommend enhancements as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 4+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role.

- Proficient in managing NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) and SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).

- Strong understanding of distributed database architecture and replication mechanisms.

- Experience with Linux administration and scripting languages for automation.

- Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner, etc.).

- Experience with DevOps ecosystems and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially for performance tuning.

- Exposure to containerized environments and Kubernetes-native database management.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have) :

- AWS Certified Database Specialty

- MongoDB Certified DBA

- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer

- Any relevant DevOps or cloud infrastructure certifications
