Please do not contact the recruiter directly.DESCRIPTION: The Site WHS officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a Sort Center to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional andergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful workingenvironment for our Associates. The Site WHS officer mustdemonstratethe ability to build trust and confidence with theOperations Team andinfluence change through providing comprehensiverisk assessments andsafety data analysis.The Site WHS officer must be aneffective communicator and send clear, concise andconsistent messages,both verbally and in writing. This individual mustinstruct and trainOperations Leaders in company safety policies andassist the operationssite teams in incorporating our safety standardsat their site. The Site WHS officer will be required to identifybest practices andincorporate these best practices into our standardsto continuouslyimprove company safety policies. The Site WHS officer will berequired to possess excellent safety program andrelevant safety,environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstratesthis expertisewhen working with Operations.The Site WHS officer will beresponsible to lead a safety team members: SafetySpecialist, SafetyCoordinators, Onsite first aid Associates. Thisindividual must createand execute leadership development plans fortheir Safety Associates ontheir team. They must communicate safetyteam expectations and givefrequent and appropriate feedback to theirsafety teams and ensure theyare executing to the core competencies ofan Amazon safety professional. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research - 2+ years previous experience in Environment, Health & Safety or ME in Industrial Safety Engineering - · Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field required. - · Experience managing multiple direct reports. - · Must be flexible regarding shifts. - · Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. - · Experience managing multiple direct reports PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Fulfillment Center or Manufacturing Safety experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 200 people preferred. - · Master's degree preferred - · Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization - · Government Certified Safety Professional preferred - · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders. - · Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies. - · Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. - · Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategyOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
