Job overview

The Insurance technology and services team focuses on current and anticipated trends at a line-of business level (e.g., life insurance, property and casualty insurance, retirements and pensions, personal lines, commercial lines, specialty lines, and reinsurance) and the impact of those trends on the corresponding software products and platforms. This team advises insurance enterprises, product/platform/technology providers, and service providers on how the insurance technology stack should evolve in line with the upcoming trends and market needs. From our published reports to custom decision support, insurance technology team supports clients though its fact based data and insights to analyse and assess market trends, topical issues, and product provider capabilities.

This is a dynamic industry, and the Senior Analyst is expected to track market developments in the insurance industry in-line with evolving regulations, emerging technologies, and advancements in the technology provider landscape. The Senior Analyst is expected to contribute to the research program by delivering high quality, original research reports and custom advisory projects. This will require the candidate to maintain an ongoing dialog with senior industry executives at insurance enterprises and products/platforms providers on key issues, as well as help answer their queries. The candidate will be required to deliver custom research engagements within the insurance technology area and collaborate with insurance IT and operations services team members to build implications for the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify areas of research based on industry and client needs
• Solve problems and structure work to manage deliverables and timelines
• Contribute significantly to the published research agenda of the insurance technology practice
• Lead medium sized custom research engagements
• Actively augment domain expertise and build a PoV across insurance technology platform areas in various lines of businesses, via market tracking, and connecting with internal/external SMEs
• Support business development efforts through proposal writing and other initiatives
• Participate proactively in external market communication by responding to analyst inquiries, conducting executive conversations, and maintaining/growing long-term client relationships

• Proficient in Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Education & experience

• Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred (preferably from Tier-1 B-School)
• Experience in at least one core product/platform used in insurance industry (policy administration and claims management systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco or similar core platforms) is a must
• 2 to 4 years of work experience as one of the following:
• Business analyst/Product owner leading configuration or implementation of insurance technology platforms as mentioned above
• Consultant advising insurance enterprises on product/platform selection exercises
• Product manager or client success manager for an insurance product/ platform provider
• Strong understanding of technology concepts such as AI, automation, data analytics, machine learning, and cloud as they apply to the insurance industry
• History of excellence in academics, personal, and vocational achievements
