Manager-EHV Procurement (m/f/d) (Renewable Industry)

Full-time, Gurgaon, India


Profile Summary :


As a procurement professional, who shall lead procurement of equipment related to Pooling Sub Stations (PSS) & Transmission Lines (TL) of up to 400 KV including Contract closures until commissioning of the respective Projects.


Roles & Responsibilities :


You shall perform following activities including but not limited to:


  • Oversee all aspects of the procurement process for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, including subcontracts, material management, and MIS reporting.
  • Lead and manage the procurement of equipment for 66kV, 132kV and 220kV Pooling Substation (PSS) and Bay end works at the Grid Substations (GSS).
  • Analyze responses to bids and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), identify and summarize commercial differences between proposals, make clear recommendations for selecting the most suitable suppliers for contract awards.
  • Manage the entire supplier lifecycle, including Identifying and qualifying potential suppliers/vendors, negotiating rates, finalizing and issuing orders considering all legal, commercial, and technical aspects and ensuring timely material delivery Including support for evaluating and processing EPC contract change orders.
  • Source and acquire equipment/ materials/ contractors for transmission lines of up to 400kV.
  • Develop bottom-up cost estimates for PSS, GSS, and transmission line works for substations up to 220kV.
  • Create work procedures for Monitoring supply and service activities (pre-order, post-order management), Material control planning, Inspection coordination and expediting.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies through cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and market trend studies.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) inspection team to ensure compliance and timely issuance of Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCCs).
  • Manage post-award subcontractors, including mobilization, bank guarantee submissions, claim settlements, and dispute resolutions.
  • Utilize market data to support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management. This ensures you get the best value while maintaining a reliable supply chain.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, conducting re-evaluations periodically/ as needed.
  • Manage ad-hoc business requirements while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to company contracting policies. This balances responsiveness with fiscal responsibility.


Technical Expertise :


  • Able to provide necessary inputs/ solution (VENDOR-BOM-BOQ-COSTING matrix) to D&E and Business Development Teams to achieve lowest possible LCOE.
  • Should have strong network among suppliers.
  • Plan a cross-functional role in RFP preparation, vendor identification - shortlisting – selection, contract negotiations and closures.
  • Possess a strong understanding of EHV contractual terms and conditions.
  • Aware of volatility in commodity pricing and conducting procurement of materials and services at industry’s most competitive terms
  • Support of prepare the purchase orders in the ERP.
  • Expedite documents routing for approval.


Qualification and Educational Requirements :


  • Bachelor’s or Master´s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of Experience in supply chain management of Power Transformers, transmission Line & Switchyard’s A, B & C class material & Services experience is must.
  • Knowledge of IS codes and industry practices.
