Job Title: Senior Manager - Production


Location: Mundra,Gujarat


Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Production is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role involves managing production teams, optimizing production workflows, and implementing strategies to meet production goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:
  • Oversee and manage the production process from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement production strategies and plans to meet business objectives and optimize resource utilization.

2.Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage production teams, including supervisors, operators, and other staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support staff development and training.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.

3.Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the use of advanced technologies and methodologies to streamline production processes.

4.Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to prevent defects and ensure consistent product quality.

5.Budget and Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the production budget, including forecasting, cost control, and expense tracking.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize production costs.
  • Analyze financial reports and production data to make informed decisions.

6.Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in all production activities.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
  • Address any safety concerns or incidents promptly and effectively.

7.Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to ensure alignment and resolve any production-related issues.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.

8.Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including progress towards goals, key challenges, and improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to production activities, processes, and changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a production management role in Chemical Plant.
  • Proven experience in managing large production teams and optimizing production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
