The Legal Head is responsible for overseeing all legal matters pertaining to the company's operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, providing strategic legal advice, and mitigating legal risks. The role involves managing the legal team, handling litigation, negotiating contracts, and advising on legal issues related to home loans and mortgage product.

Legal Strategy and Leadership:

Develop and implement the legal strategy aligned with the company's business goals.

Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on various business matters.

Lead and manage the legal department, including recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to home loans and real estate.

Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise management on potential impacts.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage regulatory inspections and audits.

Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including loan agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements.

Ensure that all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Manage contract disputes and litigation.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

Oversee all litigation and dispute resolution matters.

Manage relationships with external legal counsel.

Represent the company in legal proceedings and settlement negotiations.

Risk Management:

Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to minimize legal exposure.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management.

Corporate Governance:

Advise on matters related to corporate governance and company secretarial duties.

Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and best practices.

Support the board of directors with legal advice and documentation.

Legal Advisory:

Provide legal advice on a broad range of issues, including employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy.

Assist in the development of company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

Support business development initiatives with legal insights and risk assessments.

Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Work closely with other departments to provide legal support and guidance.

Engage with external legal counsel, regulatory authorities, and industry LL.B. or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution. LL.M. or specialization in corporate or real estate law is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior legal role within the Affordable home loan/Mortgage knowledge of home loan regulations, real estate laws, and corporate governance.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills.

Proven leadership and team management abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
