Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Welding QC Engineer at Steelcon Engineering LLP in Anklesvar. The Welding Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as WPS/PQR/WPQ, TTJ Mock-up, Welding Quality Control, Welding Inspection, Welder Training, RT Planning and Interpretation, Metallurgical Analysis, etc.

Qualifications

• CSWIP / AWS / IWE Certification required.
• RT / PT / UT / VT Level II or higher.
• Quality Control and Welding Inspection expertise
• Background in Metallurgy or Mechanical or Welding
• Experience with ASME Standards, NDT and Welding Codes
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all welding related activities for fabrication.
• Inspect pressure vessels to determine conformance to applicable Codes and Standards.
• Before, During and After Welding Inspection and Documentation.
• Review Drawings and Enquiry Specifications for requirements of WPS / PQR / WPQ / Mock-up / NDT etc.
• Preparation of WPS / PQR / WPQ / TTJ Mock-up.
• Maintenance of Welder Continuity.
• Maintaining all Welding Records timely and up to date.
• Training of Welders for Welding Procedures and required Continuity.
• Maintenance and Review of Calibration Records.
• RT Film Interpretation and Documentation.
• Required Material Lab. Testing correspondence, review and documentation.
• Qualification of Welders.
• Join preparation inspection and welding inspection.
• Welding consumable requisition planning. Preparation of “TDC” for welding consumables.
• Inspection of welding consumables and preparation of Material Receiving Inspection Report.
• Inspection, Review and Documentation of Welding Consumable Test Certificates and Reports.
• Welding Oven records maintenance and check.
• Welding Electrode Issue record and control.
• Welding Electrode pre-heating, baking and portable oven temperature review and records.
• Welding machine parameters review and records during welding.
• Carry out NDT after root pass and after final welding.
• Visual inspection of welded material.
• PWHT / PFHT planning, review, record and inspection.
• Maintaining documentation of PWHT / PFHT.
• If incase of any repair, observe and record findings. Carry out the repair with a qualified welder following the repair procedure.
• Preparation of Weld Plan and its Execution.
• To ensure calibration of welding related equipment.
• Co-ordinate and assist QC personnel for welding inspection.
• Preparation, Assistance and Implementation of Applicable Welding & NDT Related SOPs.
