As part of leading a team of engineers, you will have the opportunity to create significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly, our customers as we take on challenges that can reshape the e-commerce industry. In this role, you will be managing the team that is building new capabilities for Sellers to manage their business on Amazon.A successful candidate will be a hands-on manager with an established background in developing high volume and highly available services, strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic fast-paced environment.Key job responsibilities Your day-to-day responsibilities: -Build a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations - Work with your stakeholders including product and dependency tech teams to build your team's vision and roadmap - Design and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems -Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning - Provide thought leadership and establish technical vision for the team -Mentor and grow super star SDEs to take on increasingly higher responsibilitiesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience - 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
