Job Title - General Manager - HR Operations
Location Kharagpur, West Bengal
Reports To - Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) or equivalent
Job Summary
The General Manager - HR Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's HR operations. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and ensuring seamless delivery of HR services, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, align HR initiatives with business goals, and foster a high-performing, engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization's objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
- HR Operations Management: Oversee end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee data management, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, enhance efficiency, and implement technology solutions to improve service delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Employee Relations: Oversee employee relations programs, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies, conflict resolution, and a positive workplace environment.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, as well as company policies, while mitigating HR-related risks.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize HR metrics and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders, department heads, and external vendors to align HR initiatives with organizational needs and priorities.
- Change Management: Lead HR-related change initiatives, including system implementations, policy updates, and organizational restructuring.
- Employee Engagement: Drive programs to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction, including performance management and career development Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing HR Strong knowledge of HR processes, including recruitment, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Greyt HR) and data analytics tools.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
