Brain Bristle is a high-impact not-for-profit foundation for autism and inclusion currently based out of Mumbai. The organization works in low-income schools of the city to promote excellent education, exposure and inclusivity for students on the autism spectrum; builds advocacy for the cause and also runs workshops and research in the space of autism.

Role Description

This is a 4-5 hour/day on-site role for a Social Worker at Brain Bristle in Mumbai. The Social Worker will be responsible for teaching, writing, guiding and facilitating Individualized Educational Plans for students on the autism spectrum across our low income city schools, building inclusion in the classrooms they work at, collaborating with school staff to implement inclusion strategies, conducting assessments, and developing holistic, future-facing plans for their students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good with children
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
    • Open to learning and implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
      • Passionate about school systems, education systems, communities, and circles of care.
        • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
          • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology,

Counseling, Arts, Teaching

  • or a related field
    • Experience

with teachihg or social work including

  • work with

students

  • with special needs is a plus.

Remuneration:

This is a one academic year social work commitment to our city's low income schools. You will be provided excellent training and a small stipend for your work to the cause.
