AMD together we advance_ Windows driver development Engineer THE ROLE: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Software Engineer with 5–6 years of experience in Windows driver development and a strong grasp of Windows OS internals. You will be part of a high-impact team building advanced application profiling tools for Windows, leveraging modern C++ and low-level system expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and maintain Windows kernel-mode and user-mode drivers. Work on performance profiling and instrumentation tools for Windows applications. Analyze and optimize system-level behavior using Windows internals knowledge. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate profiling tools into broader software ecosystems. Debug complex issues across kernel and user space using tools like WinDbg, ETW, and PerfView. Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews with a focus on performance and reliability. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5–6 years of hands-on experience in Windows driver development (WDM, KMDF, UMDF). Strong understanding of Windows OS internals (memory management, process/thread scheduling, I/O subsystem). Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) with emphasis on performance and system-level programming. Experience with debugging tools (WinDbg, Visual Studio Debugger) and performance analysis tools (ETW, WPA). Familiarity with Windows APIs, registry, and system services. Solid grasp of multithreading, synchronization, and low-level system programming concepts. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
