An Australian company expanding their engineering capability in the Philippines Focused on developing a comprehensive university event management platform. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fullstack Developer proficient in PHP (Laravel), JavaScript, MySQL, and experienced with GitHub (SCM and CI/CD), DynamoDB, and AWS services. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our web applications, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Be available to provide support based on SLA and severity, ensuring continuous monitoring and adherence to SLAs. Actively participate in the Agile development process, including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews. Lead the development and maintenance of the Angular web application and PHP backend services including upgrading PHP and Angular to their latest versions. Maintain high-quality code standards and practices, conducting regular code reviews. Manage and upgrade the iOS React Native application, ensuring its compatibility, performance, and alignment with user needs. Key Skills and Key Qualifications: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience Solid understanding and experience with AWS services, particularly AWS RDS, EC2, and basic AWS alerts. Skills in managing database drift and optimizing resource use and costs are crucial. Proven ability in network management, particularly with load balancers, to ensure performance, resilience, and security. Expertise in Git for version control, including branching, merging, and handling pull requests. Knowledgeable in CI/CD practices, preferably with GitHub, focusing on efficient builds, deployments, automated testing, and deployment gates. Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban. Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration across different time zones. Independent, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Availability to collaborate during Melbourne business hours and fulfil on-call responsibilities. MUST HAVE/NICE TO HAVE: Experience with event management platforms or similar complex web and mobile applications, particularly those involving scheduling, booking, or resource management. Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and its application in scalable, user-centric platforms. Background in upgrading and maintaining legacy systems, particularly in transitioning to modern technology stacks. Previous experience working in a globally distributed team, especially in a remote setting. Experience or interest in the education sector or related fields, understanding its unique challenges and requirements.
