Manager (Plumbing & Firefighting Design) Location: Bangalore At Total Environment, we love creating experiences that touch the senses and evoke emotions. We currently have 8 projects with around 4500 custom designed, furnished homes as well as commercial and institutional buildings, covering a total saleable area of approximately 14 million square feet under construction at Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. Role Purpose The person is responsible for the design of Plumbing & Firefighting Design schemes in villas and tall residential & commercial buildings. The candidate shall be responsible for the efficient and economical design of water supply, drainage, sewage and firefighting schemes for all the projects through levers of high-quality design, customization, progress management, customer centricity, team management and planning. The candidate shall work closely with the Architects, Structural Engineers, Landscape Teams to ensure the successful release of GFC Drawings in terms of time, cost, quality and reliability. Scope · Design & Customization · Water supply, Drainage, Sewage and Firefighting · Time & Team management · Innovation Responsibility · Ensure efficient & economical design · Ensure compliance with all applicable IS Codes, National Building Code, NFPA…etc. · Prepare a master project design schedule and adhere to the same thro' stringent monitoring. · Periodical Site Visits to confirm implementation of design intent and quality · Prepare detailed BOQ with quantity break-ups. · Review and approve of shop drawings and quantities. · Ensure all design plan goals are in tune with the company goals · Establish basic work plans for design and quality assurance · Attend periodic design review meetings and participate actively · Develop and guide a high performing team · Work closely with architectural and structural engineering teams to ensure impeccable alignment · Ensure an effective succession planning in the team Accountability · Responsible for the company to meet its objectives of sustained growth and profitability through sharp design acumen · Role-model the Leadership Principles of the Company You will create an Impact If you · Apply sound design philosophy to achieve project profitability · Are a great fit with the company culture: entrepreneurial, customer-centric, strong design understanding and creating a sensitively welcoming workplace · Have the ability to design and deploy processes. Requirements · 5-12 years of experience in Plumbing, Firefighting, Storm water and Sewage network design in large projects comprising of Villas, tall Residential and Commercial buildings. · Thorough knowledge of applicable IS Codes, National Building Code, NFPA, etc. · Demonstrated leadership experience in design · Excellent client relations and presentation skills · Experience in navigating cultural change in a creative environment · Ability to navigate and build consensus and coalitions among leadership Experience in Revit is Must · Must be a professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character · Situational leadership skills – ability to adapt, deal with ambiguity and provide clarity · Ability to invent and simplify - externally aware, always looking for new ideas from everywhere, and not limited by "not invented here".
