Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with over 8 years of experience in Core Java and the Spring framework, including Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern software development practices, particularly in microservices architecture, RESTful services, and CI/CD processes. This role will involve leading and mentoring teams, supporting production systems, and collaborating with multiple business units to deliver robust software solutions. Note: Working hours will include overlap with the UK shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using Core Java and the Spring framework.
  • Implement microservices and RESTful services to enhance system functionality and scalability.
  • Work with various web servers and ensure optimal performance of applications.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using Shell, Python, JavaScript, and Bash.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, preferably in Oracle.
  • Set up and manage code repositories (Git) and build tools (Gradle/Maven).
  • Implement deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Hudson, and orchestration tools such as Ansible.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage them with Kubernetes.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and mentor team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide production support and manage ticket handling to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Apply analytical and debugging skills to troubleshoot and enhance system performance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in Java development with a strong focus on the Spring framework and related technologies.
  • Proven experience in microservices architecture and RESTful service development.
  • Extensive knowledge of ANSI SQL, with a preference for Oracle databases.
  • Proficient in version control (Git) and build automation tools (Gradle/Maven).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies, particularly Jenkins and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • (Optional) Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in the Biopharma industry is a plus.
