Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Hyperion Consultant with strong expertise in the Oracle Hyperion EPM Product Suite. The candidate will be responsible for the development, customization, and support of Hyperion applications, ensuring high performance and availability. The role demands solid hands-on experience in Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and related tools, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Work on small, medium, and large Hyperion application development and support projects.

- Design and develop Hyperion Planning applications with expertise in Essbase.

- Write and optimize Calculation Manager rules and Calculation Scripts.

- Develop and maintain Hyperion forms, task lists, menus, and smart lists.

- Provide expertise in Smart View usage for business reporting and analysis.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

- Ensure smooth performance and provide ongoing support for Hyperion applications.

Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience

- 4 6 years of experience in Hyperion application development and support.

- Strong knowledge of Hyperion Planning and Essbase.

- Hands-on experience in Calculation Manager, rules, and scripts.

- Expertise in building and managing forms, task lists, menus, and smart lists.

- Proficiency in Smart View for business reporting and end-user support.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.4 6 years of experience in Hyperion application development and support.

Roles & Responsibilities of a Hyperion Consultant

- 1. Implementation & Configuration

- Deploy and configure Hyperion EPM suite components: Planning, Essbase (ASO/BSO), HFM, DRM, FDMEE, EPMA, Financial Reporting, and/or FCM

- Manage application cloning, migration across environments, and system setups like user access, security, hierarchies, dimensions, workflow approvals, and automation

- 2. Requirement Gathering & Solution Design

- Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into functional designs for financial planning, consolidation, budgeting, and reporting solutions

- Conduct workshops, CRPs (Conference Room Pilots), and sprint sessions for capturing requirements and designing user experiences

- 3. Development & Optimization

- Build and manage Essbase cubesdesign dimensions, calculation scripts, business rules, data mappings, and loaded metadata

- Optimize performance of cubes, manage data integrity, and improve system functionality

- Integrate Hyperion with systems like Oracle EBS using tools such as FDMEE or ODI

- 4. Testing, Documentation & Deployment

- Lead testing phasesunit testing, system/integration testing, UATand develop test plans/scripts to ensure quality

- Prepare clear documentation including functional specifications, technical details, user guides, and deliverable artifacts for each project phase

- 5. Training & User Support

- Provide training sessions for business and end users on functionalities like Smart View, reporting, and data entry workflows

- Offer ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, diagnose system errors, ensure system availability, and resolve discrepancies

- 6. System Administration

- Perform regular activities: backups, system maintenance, performance tuning, security administration, and ensuring data integrity

- Conduct audits, manage changes, and execute software patches or upgrades as needed

- 7. Continuous Improvement & Optimization

- Proactively identify and drive process improvementsautomation, optimization, and enhancements for greater efficiency

- Provide expert guidance to improve financial systems, consolidate processes, and enhance decision-making capacities

- 8. Reporting & Analytics

- Design, develop, and maintain financial dashboards, reports, and consolidated output leveraging tools like Financial Reporting Studio, Smart View, and FRS

- Support analysis on financial performance, trends, and provide decision support insights

- 9. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as a key liaisonmanaging client expectations, coordinating deliverables, and communicating project status to stakeholders

- Present findings, recommendations, and project outcomes in a clear, effective manner

Qualifications & Skills Required :

Category : Details

Education Bachelors in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or relevant field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS, CPA) often preferred

Experience 38+ years implementing, administering, or consulting on Hyperion/Oracle EPM applications; senior roles may require 8+ years and multi-cycle implementations Himalayas
