About the role  

Provide operational technology communications systems engineering and support to projects , operating groups and asset managers in the construction, operation, maintenance and support of Water Corporation assets throughout the State.           

Operational technology communications systems include all networks that interconnect the operational assets to the centralised SCADA systems. These include fixed networks such as NBN connectivity, site LAN infrastructure, Mobile LTE networks such as 4G, radio systems networks including analog and digital systems, satellite connected systems including traditional satellites and low earth orbit systems.     

What the role will involve: 

  • Supervises the installation and testing of operational technology communications equipment
  • Provides specialist technical advice and support to metropolitan and regional personnel in respect to the operation, maintenance and support of operational technology communication systems.
  • Investigates problems with operational technology communications system performance and recommends corrective action.
  • Responsible for managing licences including applying for new licences, renewing existing licences and cancelling licences.
  • Arranges and supervises planned and breakdown maintenance of operational technology communications systems.
  • Assists the design team with operational technology communications system standards and equipment selection.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of  Engineering in a related field and sound field experience in operation technology communications area or and Associated Diploma and extensive experience in the  communications industry.

Operational technology communications experience will include:

  • Relevant experience in the testing, installation, inspection of and maintenance of operational technology communications equipment
  • Detailed knowledge of communications practices and Australian Communication and Media Authority Regulations
  • Use of engineering / configuration software
  • “C” Class WA drivers licence
