Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Design located in Mumbai at STED Archbuild. The Head of Design will be responsible for overseeing the design team, developing design strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
oLead, mentor, and inspire a team of architects and designers to achieve excellence in their work.
oOversee project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
oSet clear goals and expectations for design quality, creativity, and adherence to project timelines.
Design Oversight:
oProvide creative direction and guidance on all design projects, from initial concept through to completion.
oReview and critique design work, offering constructive feedback to enhance project outcomes.
oEnsure designs meet client requirements, budget constraints, and regulatory standards.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
oCollaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into innovative design solutions.
oPresent design concepts and progress to clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
oBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
Strategic Planning:
oContribute to the development of the firm’s strategic vision and design approach.
oIdentify and implement best practices and industry trends to enhance the firm's design capabilities.
oDrive design innovation and ensure the firm remains competitive in the architectural market.
Project Management:
oOversee the design phase of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
oCoordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, construction) to ensure seamless project execution.
oManage resources effectively and allocate design team members to projects based on their skills and experience.
Quality Assurance:
oImplement and enforce design standards and quality control measures.
oAddress any design issues or challenges promptly to minimize project disruptions.
