We are currently seeking aSenior CodeIgniter Developerwith deep expertise inCodeIgniter 4 ,database performance optimization , andsystem integrationsto join our dynamic team in Bangalore under ahybrid work model .Role OverviewWe’re looking for a seasoned backend engineer who can design and optimize APIs, queries, and authentication systems in a high-performance environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation inPHP (CodeIgniter 4 framework) ,PostgreSQL/MySQL ,queue mechanisms , andthird-party integrationsusing APIs. You will collaborate closely with our product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and maintain backend applications usingCodeIgniter 4 . Implement and managequeue mechanismsfor asynchronous and scalable systems. Design and optimize SQL queries forPostgreSQLandMySQL , usingquery profiling ,CTEs (Common Table Expressions) , andquery builders . Analyze and enhanceAPI performancethrough caching, indexing, and query optimization. Implementauthentication mechanismsincludingSAML ,SSO , andAPI key-based integrations . Securely integratethird-party tools or platformsusing API keys and secrets. Applyfilters in CodeIgniter 4for middleware-level functionalities such as authentication and request validation. Design and maintainstored proceduresfor performance and data integrity, with a clear understanding of when to useraw SQL vs query builder . Participate incode reviews ,system design , andperformance tuning . Troubleshoot complex technical issues and suggest long-term, scalable solutions.Required Skills & Experience10+ yearsof hands-on experience inPHP development , with strong focus onCodeIgniter (CI 4) . Expertise inPostgreSQLandMySQL , including indexing, joins, and query optimization. Proven experience withqueue systems(e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis, Beanstalkd, or similar). Strong understanding ofauthentication protocols–SAML ,OAuth2 ,SSO , etc. Experience withquery profiling toolsand database performance analysis. Strong instored procedures ,query builders , andraw SQL— and understanding when to use each. Hands-on experience withthird-party API integrationsandsecure authentication management . Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities, including solving algorithmic or situational problems. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Good to HaveKnowledge ofmicroservices architectureandAPI gateway management . Experience withCI/CD pipelinesandDocker-based deployments . Familiarity withperformance monitoring toolsandprofiling libraries .
