Job Summary:

The Orthopedic Associate Professor will play a pivotal role in advancing the department's educational and research mission. This position involves delivering high-quality orthopedic education, engaging in clinical practice, and contributing to innovative research in orthopedic surgery. The ideal candidate will be committed to the training and mentorship of residents and students while actively participating in academic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Educational Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive orthopedic curricula for medical students and residents.
• Facilitate hands-on training sessions and workshops, focusing on surgical techniques and patient management.
• Mentor and supervise residents during clinical rotations and research initiatives.
• Clinical Responsibilities:
• Provide expert care in the assessment and treatment of orthopedic conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Perform a range of orthopedic surgeries, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Research and Scholarly Activities:
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, focusing on advancements in orthopedic practices and patient care.
• Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Seek external funding for research projects and educational initiatives.
• Service and Leadership:
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and professional organizations.
• Engage in community service and outreach programs related to orthopedic health.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical protocols and educational programs.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
• Fellowship training in a specialized area of orthopedics is preferred.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in academic orthopedic surgery, including teaching and research.
• Proven track record of clinical excellence and surgical proficiency.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Board-certified in orthopedic surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure.
