Job Title: Manager Legal

Location: New Delhi, India

Reports To: CEO

About the Company: The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) is a privately-owned franchise tournament and is a partnership between the cricketing boards of Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. The tournament plans to feature top players from the three nations alongside some of the best talent from around the world.

Job Summary: The Manager Legal will play a crucial role in providing legal support and guidance to the company across various areas. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of corporate law, contract management, and regulatory compliance. The Manager Legal will be responsible for managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and providing strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and partnership agreements.
  • Ensure contracts are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the contract database.

2) Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy, employment law, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
  • Conduct internal audits and investigations as needed.

3) Legal Advisory:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on various legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters.

4) Litigation Management:

  • Assist in managing litigation and disputes, including coordinating with external counsel.
  • Gather and prepare evidence for legal proceedings.
  • Monitor and report on litigation progress.

5) Corporate Governance:

  • Assist with corporate governance matters, including board meetings and shareholder resolutions.
  • Maintain corporate records and filings.

6) Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide training to employees on legal and compliance matters.

7) External Counsel Management:

  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and monitor legal spend.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's degree (LLM) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a legal role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
