In this role, you'll be at the heart of our telecommunications infrastructure, managing our Class 4 softswitch platform, establishing carrier interconnections, and ensuring optimal network performance. If you're passionate about VoIP technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment where your technical expertise directly impacts service quality, we want to hear from you.What You'll Do- Configure and manage Class 4 softswitch routing, including LCR optimization and traffic management - Administer billing systems and rating configurations for accurate call processing and invoicing - Set up and configure interconnections with customers, carriers, and vendor partners - Analyze packet captures (PCAPs) using Wireshark to diagnose call quality issues, routing problems, and protocol errors - Monitor system performance, capacity, and call quality metrics through NOC tools - Create, manage, and resolve trouble tickets in collaboration with customers and vendors - Test and validate new routes and trunks to ensure proper call flow and audio quality - Investigate and resolve issues related to SIP signaling, media path, codec negotiation, and network connectivity - Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and interconnection specifications - Respond to alerts and alarms to minimize service disruptions and maintain SLA compliance - Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support coverageWhat We're Looking ForRequired:- 2+ years hands-on experience with Class 4 softswitch platforms - Experience with PeerEdge by 46 Labs strongly preferred (or similar platforms such as SipNav, DeNova Labs, Veriswitch, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or OpenSIPS) - Proven ability to configure routing, billing, and rating systems - Strong understanding of VoIP protocols including SIP, RTP, RTCP, and SDP - Proficiency with packet capture analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump) - Solid grasp of TCP/IP, UDP, networking fundamentals, and QoS concepts - Experience diagnosing codec issues, latency, jitter, and packet loss - Familiarity with firewalls, NAT traversal, and session border controllers (SBCs) - Experience with trouble ticket systems and NOC operational procedures - Strong documentation skills and meticulous attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyPreferred:- Experience with CDR analysis and fraud detection/prevention - Knowledge of SS7, ISUP, or TDM-to-IP gateway configurations - Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) for task automation - Industry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, or VoIP-specific certifications) - Familiarity with wholesale carrier ecosystems and peering arrangements - Experience in a telecommunications or carrier environmentWork Schedule & Location- Full-time position - US business hours (flexible across EST/CST/MST/PST time zones) - Remote work available - On-call rotation participation requiredWhy Join Signalmash?- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package - Work with cutting-edge telecommunications technology - Collaborative team environment with experienced professionals - Opportunities for professional growth and skill development - Make a direct impact on critical communication infrastructure - Flexible remote work optionsHow to ApplyWe'd love to learn more about you Please send the following to careers@signalmash.com:- Your resume - A brief Loom video (2-3 minutes) introducing yourself and describing your most challenging VoIP troubleshooting experience and how you resolved itSignalmash is an equal opportunity employer.
