They also believe they can improve the engineering experience for their team and other Marriott associates. We believe we can do that by challenging the status quo to find the best ways possible to deliver and enjoy a digital experience. We are seeking a highly engaged and motivated JavaScript Engineer who is passionate about continuously improving their skills and learning new technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong JavaScript/TypeScript background and possess exceptionalcommunication skills. In this role you will function as a technical expert and lead engineer within the GraphQL team. You will perform research, analysis, design and development on an emerging GraphQL API platform. You will be responsible for interacting with consuming digital teams (web, mobile etc.) as well as domain API teams. This role acts as a bridge between the two and requires strong communication skillsTo be successful in this role the person will have to be able to shuffle and prioritize multiple initiatives. It is common that you will be engaging with multiple teams from different areas and providing technical solutions to the challenges they bring to the tableJob Responsibilities:Technical Leadership:- Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate - Ability to work liaising with multiple teams to steer projects from inception to successful - delivery - Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other - cost/resource estimates as requested - Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.Delivering Technology:- Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes - and projects. - Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services - Providers - Validates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider solutioning - Ensures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes - Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams - Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development - Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or - missed service levels - Coordinates with Application Delivery and Infrastructure teams for deployment and - production support activitiesIT Governance:- Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, - Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process - owners as needed - Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk - Ability to assess when risks need to be escalated to right channels. - Follows the defined project management standards and processesSkill and Experience:- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for learning and growth - Strong verbal and written communication skills - JavaScript and TypeScript as your primary development language - Experience with modern front-end or back-end web technologies and frameworks. - Proven track record of working with scalable, high-quality web applications - Understanding of performance related concerns, where issues can arise and how to - solve for them. - Strong understanding of data structures and software design patterns - Deep understanding of the difference in capabilities (such as orchestration, filtering, - sorting etc) that GraphQL provides over REST - Knowledge of when to best apply those capabilities - 2+ years working with GraphQL - 4-6 years’ contributing to large scale API projects - 5+ years’ technical delivery ownership of JavaScript projects - A desire to create great GraphQL Schema - AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification - Ability/understanding on how to use containerization (Docker) for node.js apps - Technical writing experience - Communication & business/product management experienceEducation and Certifications:- AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certificationWork location: Hyderabad, IndiaWork mode: Hybrid
