THIS IS A LONG-TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST, GLOBAL, TECHNOLOGY LEADERS.We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Test Engineer with strong expertise in Backend | REST API Automation | Java | DevOps tools. You will be part of a dynamic engineering team in Pune, working on building robust, scalable, and high-quality cloud and web products. This is a hybrid role based in Pune.Key Responsibilities:- Own and execute end-to-end backend automation for new and existing features. - Define the QA strategy for the team and set up robust release management practices. - Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and convert them into detailed test plans. - Write clean assertions that map to business acceptance criteria and maintain stable automation suites. - Drive automation coverage within the scrum team and implement best practices for scalable and maintainable frameworks. - Identify flaky tests, strengthen automation stability, and optimize the testing pyramid. - Work closely with engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed institution. - 5–8 years of professional experience in Software Testing or SDET roles. - Strong hands-on experience in Java, JavaScript, or Python for automation scripting. - Expertise with REST API automation frameworks such as RestAssured, Karate, etc. - Proficiency in BDD frameworks like Cucumber or JBehave. - Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter or equivalent). - Hands-on experience with Jira, Jenkins, Git, and version control workflows. - Strong understanding of automation strategy, test environments, and CI/CD pipelines.Primary Skills: Backend Automation (REST API), RestAssured, Java, Cucumber, Docker, Jenkins, Load & Performance TestingSecondary Skills: Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, Mockito, Python, plunkOur large, Fortune client is ranked among the top global technology leaders and is consistently recognized as one of the best companies to work for.
