OVERVIEW:

Our client is leading multinational apparel and textile company based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, specializing in denim and woven products. The Director Quality will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality, compliance, and ethical sourcing across all aspects of our operations. This role will require strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our reputation as a trusted supplier in the global market.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


1.Quality Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality management systems and processes to ensure adherence to international standards and customer requirements.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and monitor performance against targets, taking proactive measures to address any deviations.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of production facilities, raw materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company standards.


2.Supplier Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to evaluate and qualify new suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of their quality systems and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, providing guidance and support to improve their quality performance and reliability.
  • Implement supplier development programs to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks in the supply chain.


3.Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements related to product safety, environmental sustainability, and labor practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, including but not limited to, labor laws, environmental regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.


4.Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees at all levels to enhance their understanding of quality standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization.


5.Risk Management:

  • Identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent issues from arising during production or post-production stages.
  • Establish robust systems for non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action to address quality issues effectively.


6.Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the quality and audit teams, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and high performance.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, teamwork, and open communication.


PRE - REQUISITES

  • Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, quality or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality management roles within the apparel/textile industry, with a focus on denim and woven products.
  • Proven track record of implementing quality management systems, driving process improvements, and achieving measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of international quality standards, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the apparel/textile industry.
  • Experience working in multinational companies with overseas operations and exposure to global markets is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
