Additionally, you will lead initiatives focused on planning and integrating emerging clean energy technologies into distribution networks. The position will also have sole responsibility for research and development related to commercial grid applications.Key Tasks & Accountability: Drive R&D initiatives related to commercial grid use cases and advanced grid technologies. Conduct transmission and grid planning studies for Indian states and other countries. Develop and maintain power system models for load flow, short-circuit, and stability studies.Education and Experience: Domain expertise and qualifications include, but are not limited to: BE/ME in the relevant field (Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Power Systems) At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in R&D of transmission and distribution use cases in energy sector.Skills: Awareness of power systems modelling paradigms across both transmission and distribution—e.g. capacity expansion, production cost, hosting capacity, integrated volt/var control, stability assessment, dynamics, transient, balanced and multi-phase power flow, etc. Proficiency with power systems engineering concepts across both transmission and distribution systems. Familiarity with various energy regulatory environments/jurisdictions and their impacts on grid planning and operations Proficiency on grid simulation software like PSSE, ETAP or Gridlab-DWhat you will do: Conduct comprehensivetransmission and grid planning studiesfor various Indian states and other countries. Analyzepower system performance, including load flow, short-circuit, and stability assessments. Develop and evaluatescenarios for renewable energy integration, including solar, wind, and hybrid systems, into existing grid infrastructure. Supportdistribution network planningto enable the integration of emerging clean energy technologies such as electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and distributed generation. Collaborate with stakeholders todesign and optimize grid expansion plansthat enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Utilize advancedgrid simulation and modeling tools(e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, ETAP, DigSILENT) for system analysis and planning. Conductresearch and development (R&D)on commercial grid use cases and emerging technologies to support future-ready power systems. Preparetechnical reports, presentations, and planning documentsfor internal and external stakeholders. Stay updated withnational and international grid codes, regulations, and best practicesin transmission and distribution planning.What you will bring: A team player with good interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
