Position:Garment / Product Development Technician Location:Mumbai Experience:8–16 Years Working Days:5 Days a Week About the Role: We are looking for an experiencedGarment / Product Development Technicianto join one of India’s leading apparel brands. The role involves leading a team of 6–7 technicians, driving the entire product development process - from concept and sampling to the final product. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a keen eye for fit and quality, and the ability to translate design intent into commercially viable products. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of technicians to ensure accurate execution of product development. Overseepattern making, grading, sample development, fittings, and construction techniquesfor multiple categories. Prepare, review, and maintainspec sheets, measurement charts, BOMs, and tech packswith precision. Collaborate closely withdesigners, sourcing, and the masterji/sample roomto bring concepts to life. Conductfit trials , provide actionable feedback, and ensure fit consistency across sizes. Evaluatefabric behavior, shrinkage, wash effects, and garment finishingduring sampling. Troubleshoot technical or construction-related issues to improve efficiency and quality. Ensure alltechnical specifications and quality standardsare met before production. Support process improvements, innovation in product development, and adherence to timelines. Key Requirements: 8–16 years of experience inproduct development / technical design / garment technologywithin a leading apparel brand or export house. Deep understanding ofgarment construction, pattern development, grading, and fittings. Proven experience working hands-on withmasterjis, pattern makers, and sample tailors. Strong knowledge offabric types, trims, sewing techniques, and finishing standards. Proficiency inspec sheet preparation, measurement charts, and garment engineering. Fair understanding ofdesign and CAD tools(Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Gerber, or Optitex). Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a 6–7 member technical team. Highly detail-oriented, with a focus onfit accuracy, cost efficiency, and product quality. Exposure towomen’s wear / men’s wear / casualwear / woven categoriesis an added advantage.
