Job Summary:

With the next big leap in this space, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced ROR developer with a strong background in ROR and product development. In this role, you will do development, and delivery of products/projects. As a ROR developer, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.


Below is how you would allocate your bandwidth:

Coding - 80%

  • Hands-on coder writing high quality code with clean, efficient, reusable code
  • Owning critical modules completely.
  • Implement back-end APIs and integrations with external services.
  • Understand Production issues, identify route cause and close the tickets as per SLA defined

Team mentoring - 10%

  • Technical discussions
  • Guiding team
  • Hiring support
  • Code reviews

Collaboration with Stakeholders - 10%

  • Architecture team, Product teams, QA teams, Implementation, and Customer Support


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to understand project requirements and deliver quality solutions.
  • Developing High quality code with clean, efficient, reusable code
  • Review the work of other developers (code, unit test cases) and ensure the quality of work.
  • Ability to participate in and understand API integrations with external partners. Participate and share input in architecture discussions.
  • Actively collaborate with Front and Mobile team for seamless API integration
  • Document development phases, API definition and monitor systems
  • Understand Production issues, identify route cause and close the tickets as per SLA defined
  • Building code that will scale as per the dynamic client loads
  • Implement and maintain automated unit testing processes to ensure code quality and prevent regressions.
  • Ensure application security by implementing best practices for data protection and preventing common security vulnerabilities
  • Integrate software components and third-party program
  • Verify and deploy programs and systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
  • Gather and evaluate user feedback
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex issues in the ROR stack


Requirements:

  • Over all 2 years of software engineering experience working with web applications and backend systems.
  • At least 1 years of experience in production environment working with Ruby on Rails along with common libraries such as RSpec, Sidekiq, Redis.
  • Strong understanding of concepts like MVC, ORM, and RESTful
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of server-side templating languages like SLIM and CSS pre-processors like SASS.
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Strong experience working with Linux like Operating Systems and shell environments like Bash, ZSH.
  • Strong knowledge of integrating multiple databases into one system.
  • Basic understanding of systems architecture and fundamental design principles behind a scalable web application.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, derive database schemas and translate them into technical specifications and code.
  • Strong hands on experience of Relation Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL with ability of benchmarking and performance optimisation.
  • Good to have knowledge of any NoSQL database like MongoDB.
  • Strong experience practicing TDD and writing test cases to achieve highest code coverage.
  • Experience integrating third party software and payment gateways is a plus.
  • Experience with any popular JavaScript frameworks like React JS, Angular JS is a plus.

  • Good communications and proactive player on understanding requirements and providing effective solutions
  • ROR developer at a B2B SaaS company. Good to have Mentoring experience.
  • Has experience with writing enterprise software.
  • Worked on AWS and or Azure.
  • Good presence on community forums (Stackoverflow).
  • Preferably has 2 plus years of experience in a product company
