Role Description

Business Analyst with 5+ years of functional experience with 3+ years working in an Agile team. CSPO, PSPO I, PSPO II or similar product owner certification preferred but not required. Deep understanding of business requirements elicitation pursuant to specific programs/projects involved. Must be proficient in creating product requirements documents, product backlog, writing well defined user stories, ability to develop and prepare functional tasks and developmental requirements. Strong consultative and advisory skills. Excellent written and verbal communications. Deadline oriented and capable of self-management. Strong work ethic demonstrated attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and within a close team environment. Needs to work closely with Project Managers and product owners. Should be familiar with SDLC and ALM tools.


Essential Functions


  • Defining and Prioritizing Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define product requirements. Prioritize the backlog of features and user stories based on business value and customer needs.

 

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the point of contact between the development team and stakeholders. Gather feedback and address concerns.

 

  • User Story Creation: Write user stories and acceptance criteria that define the functionality and behavior of the product. Ensure that user stories are clear, concise, and actionable for the development team.

 

  • Backlog Management: Maintain and regularly refine the product backlog. Adapt to changing requirements and priorities as the project progresses.

 

  • Decision Making: Make decisions on scope, features, and changes during the project when there are conflicting priorities or resource constraints.

 

  • Acceptance Testing: Define the acceptance criteria for user stories and features. Verify that the delivered product meets these criteria.

 

  • Release Planning: Collaborate with the team to plan and schedule product releases. Ensure that each release delivers maximum value to users and the business.


  • Continuous Feedback: Actively seek feedback from users and stakeholders to make informed product improvements. Use data and feedback to iterate and enhance the product.


  • Knowledge Sharing: Keep the team informed about customer feedback.

 

  • Agile Processes: Participate in Agile ceremonies.

 

  • Gap analysis: Conduct gap analysis between existing application and stated customer requirements and collaborating with Architects and Developers to estimate project impact.

 

  • Working with technical architects, development teams, QA, and production support teams to communicate, verify, and test the desired functionality changes.


  •  Working with the clients to verify the changes to the system to ensure all relevant business needs are met.


  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication.

 

  • Recommend and institute BA best practice and methodology and tools.

 

Key Skill(s)


As a Business Analyst (BA), you are expected to be a professional in the systems and process design and implementation space and have experience on all levels of software development and implementation projects. The BA will solicit, understand, and document the customer's business requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows. You will also work with developers to create the functional specifications that meet those requirements, serve as a subject matter expert to the developers building those functions, and work with the QA team to help them test the developed functionality. This role works closely with other BA’s, Developers, Testers, and Production Support through each stage of the software development lifecycle and demonstrates both existing and new functionality to the customer stakeholders. One who can work effectively with all levels of the organization, proactively identify, and resolve problems.
