Assistant Manager Logistics:

The Incumbent will be part of the Textile team in Benin, Africa responsible for the overall supply chain management.

The candidate will oversee the daily operations of the logistics department. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of logistics processes.

Main Responsibilities

1. Coordinate Transportation: Schedule and coordinate transportation for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery of goods while optimizing costs.

2. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control procedures, including receiving, storing, and organizing inventory to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.

3. Customer/Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing for transportation services and materials.

4. Team Management: Supervise and train logistics team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.

5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline logistics operations and reduce costs.

6. Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate risks related to transportation, inventory management, and supplier relationships to ensure continuity of operations.

7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing transportation, inventory management, and workplace safety.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

- Proven experience in logistics operations, preferably in a supervisory role.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.

- Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
