The position is accountable for the entire business cycle — Planning → Buying → Assortment → Production → Sales → Gross Profit → Inventory → Working Capital, supported by People and Processes.
The fundamental accountability of the role
Responsibilities
The Purchase Head is accountable not merely for purchasing merchandise, but for building profitable retail businesses. The role encompasses planning, budgeting, assortment, sourcing, competitor intelligence, product development, production, sales, gross profit, inventory, working capital, people and process management. Every buying decision must ultimately contribute to Sales, ₹ Gross Profit, healthy Stock Rotation and sustainable Working Capital.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field,
5 to 10 years of experience in retail buying or procurement
