ROSS also operates a comprehensive global network of 145 stocking distributors, ensuring robust customer service worldwide.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Sr. Engineer / Lead Engineer / Asst. Manager - Design, located in Ambattur. The role involves designing and developing pneumatic valves and control systems, preparing and reviewing technical drawings, conducting product testing and validation, collaborating with cross-functional teams for project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will also be responsible for problem-solving and providing technical support to the production and sales teams.Responsibilities- Manage design and engineering tasks for NPD projects from concept to market release - Design and develop components and subsystems Incorporating core engineering principles and customer specifications for Pneumatic valves and other Pneumatic products. - Conceptualize new designs and optimize existing products for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. - Develop and maintain design documents including 3D models, 2D Manufacturing drawings, Design Calculations, and other relevant documents necessary for stage gate process. - Product Cost Estimation. - Prototyping, design verification, and product validation with lab tests. - Work closely with cross functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and other supporting teams to ensure smooth project progression. - Provide technical support to sales, production, and quality control departments and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis. - Knowledge sharing and technical issue resolution - Participate in continuous improvement activities: cost reduction, quality enhancement, efficiency improvements.Technical Skills- In-depth knowledge of pneumatic systems, including solenoid valves, Regulators, actuators, and other pneumatic products. - Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Edge/Creo) - Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, and other design practices .Interpersonal Skills- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders A focus on new technology development and continuous improvement. - Ability to create and maintain good inter-departmental relationship. - Critical and logical thinking for troubleshooting and providing effective solutions. - Leadership Skills & Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. - Execute responsibilities in a professional , ethical and consistent manner in total compliance with ROSS’s guidelines and policies.Qualification: BE.
