Plant Head

Job Overview: The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of our plastic recycling plant. This includes managing production, ensuring quality and safety standards, leading the plant team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recycling operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the plastic recycling plant to ensure efficient and effective processing of recyclable materials.
• Develop and implement production schedules, processes, and resource allocation strategies.
• Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve production targets and operational goals.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage plant staff, including supervisors, engineers, and operators.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages high performance and professional growth.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training and development programs.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all recycled products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections.
• Address and resolve any quality-related issues in a timely manner.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to plastic recycling operations.
• Promote a culture of safety, enforce safety protocols, and conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Maintain proper documentation and reporting for regulatory compliance.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in recycling technology, and best practices.
• Lead initiatives to improve plant performance, reduce costs, and increase the overall effectiveness of recycling operations.
• Budget and Resource Management:
• Develop and manage the plant budget, including cost control, resource allocation, and inventory management.
• Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment and materials necessary for recycling processes.
• Ensure optimal use of resources and effective management of inventory.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Report to senior management on plant performance, production metrics, operational issues, and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Prepare and present regular reports on plant operations, performance, and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in plant management or operations within the plastic recycling or waste management industry.
• Strong understanding of plastic recycling processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage complex projects.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing and recycling software and systems.
