Position SummaryThe Senior Process Engineer is responsible for process design, operation, and optimization of ZLD systems integrated into Oil & Gas wastewater management networks. This includes ensuring optimal recovery of reusable water, reduction of waste streams, and adherence to process safety and environmental standards.Key Responsibilities- Design and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for ZLD systems in refinery or upstream operations. - Perform mass and energy balances for evaporation, crystallization, and RO systems treating high-TDS or hydrocarbon-laden wastewater. - Monitor and analyze ZLD performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, water recovery, and energy utilization. - Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective process adjustments or system modifications. - Support the commissioning, performance testing, and handover of new or upgraded ZLD systems. - Develop and maintain SOPs, design documents, and plant operating manuals. - Collaborate with E&I and mechanical teams for control strategy improvements and process integration. - Evaluate new technologies for brine minimization and water reuse in oilfield and refinery operations. - Provide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and operations staff.Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering. - 7–12 years of relevant experience in process engineering of ZLD, ETP, or produced water treatment systems within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery sector. - Deep knowledge of process design and optimization for high-salinity and hydrocarbon-contaminated wastewater. - Familiarity with key unit operations: MEE, MVR, RO, crystallizers, and pre-treatment systems. - Proficiency in process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent). - Strong understanding of process safety, control systems, and energy management principles. - Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
