About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer to join our data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines and systems using GCP services. You will collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, etc.)

- Build data integration solutions to ingest structured and unstructured data from multiple sources

- Optimize existing data pipelines and perform troubleshooting and performance tuning

- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions using BigQuery

- Ensure data governance, quality, and security best practices

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights

- Maintain ETL/ELT jobs using tools like Apache Beam, Cloud Composer (Airflow), or similar

- Develop CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using Cloud Build, Terraform, etc.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

- 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles

- Strong experience with GCP data services : BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, etc.

- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or Java/Scala)

- Experience with Apache Beam, Airflow, or Cloud Composer

- Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT design principles

- Understanding of data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

Preferred Qualifications :

- GCP Professional Data Engineer certification

- Experience with streaming data pipelines

- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

- Experience in CI/CD automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Cloud Build, or similar

- Exposure to data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
