Zeno is seeking a Head of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to define and lead the company’s quality assurance function across software platforms, including cloud backend, mobile applications, and embedded systems.Location: Bengaluru – Work from Office (5 days a week)Start Date: ImmediateAbout ZenoAn unprecedented energy transition has begun. To meet 2040 net zero goals, over 2 billion electric two-wheelers (motorcycles) must be sold and $11 trillion in fuel consumption replaced. Zeno is building a tech platform to electrify this two-wheeler market, currently responsible for more than 4% of the world’s GHG emissions. Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and democratize the benefits across Africa, India, and Latin America. With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle and associated battery swap network to drive a better experience for our customers.The RoleZeno is seeking a Head of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to define and lead the company’s quality assurance function across software platforms, including cloud backend, mobile applications, and embedded systems. This is a leadership role that combines technical depth with organizational vision, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.What You’ll Do- Define and drive the overall QA strategy, roadmap, and processes across cloud, mobile, and embedded systems. - Build and oversee Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Test Cases for complex software environments. - Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of automation-first testing and continuous improvement. - Establish best practices for unit, integration, regression, and system testing within CI/CD pipelines. - Implement and optimize test automation frameworks to improve coverage and efficiency. - Oversee defect lifecycle management, root cause analysis, and reporting of quality metrics. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to integrate QA seamlessly into development workflows. - Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and methods to continuously enhance QA practices.What You Bring- 8-10 years of professional experience in software quality assurance. - 6+ years of experience in software testing, with 4+ years in cloud backend and/or mobile app testing. - Strong understanding of cloud backend architectures and mobile application technologies. - Proven expertise in creating Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases. - Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting in Python. Other scripting languages (Bash, Perl) are a plus. - Proficiency with Git and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira). - Experience with Unit Test Frameworks and Automated Test Frameworks.Good to Have:- Prior experience in Automotive, Telecom, or Industrial software testing. - ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certification. - Exposure to embedded systems, mobile app, or cloud-native service testing.Benefits- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge EV battery systems. - Mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to real-world EV operations. - Stipend or compensation aligned with industry standards. - Opportunity to contribute to Zeno’s mission in driving the trillion-dollar transition of two-wheelers to electric.
