Senior Shopify Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Shopify Backend Specialist with at least 6+ years of hands-on Shopify experience. This is not a theme-only role — we already have a frontend resource. This role focuses on Shopify backend engineering, integrations, and data architecture.The ideal candidate understands e-commerce logic inside-out, can foresee challenges, advise stakeholders, work directly with US clients. Must join immediately or within 7 days.Must-Have Skills6+ years professional Shopify (and plus) developmentStrong Node.js/PHP or other backend stacksLiquid (basic — frontend handled by another team member)Deep experience with REST & GraphQL APIsProven experience with Shopify private appsStrong understanding of e-commerce logic (inventory, pricing, discounts, checkout, multi-market setups)Excellent spoken English & client-facing abilityKey Responsibilities Backend Shopify ExpertiseCreate & manage custom private/public appsWork with Shopify Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, GraphQL & RESTDevelop automation workflows & backend logic Data Architecture & MigrationHandle large product catalogs, variants, SKUs, metaobjects & metafieldsPlan & execute store migrations (data mapping, validation, QA)Experience with bulk operations API & product feed pipelines Third-party IntegrationsBuild & maintain API-based integrations with ERPs, CRMs, OMS, PIMs, 3PLsExperience with tools like Shopify Flow, Zapier, Make/Integromat is a plus App Evaluation & Tech DecisioningEvaluate Shopify apps based on business needsRecommend build vs buy decisionsConduct POC before implementing new tools Client CommunicationConfident in English verbal communicationCan lead client calls (US timezone overlap when needed)Ability to explain tech in business language & flag roadblocks early General SkillsProblem-solver mindsetAbility to think ahead, plan, and raise risks earlyStrong documentation and task management skillsAvailabilityMust join immediately or within 7 daysCompensationWhen you apply , please write us with your current CTC and expectations.
