Job Title: English Assessment Specialist –

Overview:

The Assessment Specialist – is responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing high-quality assessments and content that evaluate English language proficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in content development, with a strong command of English, and must have been published. This role requires a deep understanding of assessment principles, content creation, and the ability to lead or collaborate with teams to ensure the quality, relevance, and accuracy of assessment tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment Design & Content Creation: Develop and design assessments in English that include various question formats (e.g., multiple-choice, essays, performance tasks) aligned with educational standards.
  • Review & Edit Content: Evaluate, review, and edit assessment questions to ensure they are free from bias, relevant, and effectively measure language proficiency.
  • Content Development: Create and develop English-language content that aligns with learning objectives and ensures clarity, correctness, and engagement.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with other developers, subject matter experts, and educational teams to ensure that assessments meet quality standards and learning goals.
  • Maintain SLA Compliance: Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by delivering assessment content on time and to the required standards.
  • Item Analysis & Improvement: Analyze the effectiveness of test questions using psychometric techniques and refine them based on statistical data and feedback.
  • Quality Assurance: Continuously monitor and improve the quality and reliability of assessments, ensuring they accurately assess the required skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language, Literature, Education, or a related field.
  • Content Creation Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in English content development, with published works to demonstrate proficiency.
  • Assessment Expertise: Proven experience in designing and developing English language assessments.
  • English Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language, with strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Critical Thinking & Analysis: Strong ability to evaluate the quality of content and assessments, and apply critical thinking to improve them.
  • Familiarity with Assessment Tools: Experience with tools used for assessment design, content creation, and statistical analysis.

Screening Process:

  1. Initial Screening: Review of the candidate's qualifications, background, and content development experience, including verifying that the candidate has published work.
  2. Advanced Screening: A detailed evaluation of previous content work to assess alignment with role requirements.
  3. English Proficiency Test: Candidates must undergo a test to assess their language skills, focusing on grammar, content creation, and language comprehension.

Assessment Process Specialist (Leadership Role):

The Assessment Process Specialist leads a team of Assessment Developers focused on English content. They are responsible for overseeing content development, ensuring the team meets deadlines and quality standards, and managing the workflow to align with SLAs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of English Assessment Developers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of assessment content.
  • SLA Management: Oversee the team’s adherence to Service Level Agreements, ensuring that assessments are completed according to the agreed timelines.
  • Collaboration & Quality Control: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that all content is high-quality, meets objectives, and maintains consistency across all assessments.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and refine the assessment development process to improve efficiency, quality, and relevance of content.
