About the Opportunity

We are hiring on behalf of a high-growth B2C tech company that is transforming commerce for millions of users across India. The Data Science team works on cutting-edge challenges like fraud detection, inventory optimization, personalization, and vernacularisation, solving unique problems in an untapped market.

In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, developing intelligent systems that impact millions of users and thousands of product categories. From improving product usability to identifying growth opportunities, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of e-commerce at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop models and run experiments to derive insights from large datasets.
  • Improve product usability and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Understand user preferences to deliver the most relevant product recommendations.
  • Design discount programs to increase reseller sales.
  • Help resellers recognize end-customer preferences to boost revenue.
  • Use data to identify bottlenecks and improve supplier SLA adherence.
  • Model seasonal demand to predict critical business metrics.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and foster best practices in model development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a fast-paced B2C environment.
  • Proficiency in Neural Networks, Machine Learning, and Statistical Modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, R, Python.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, linear algebra, and hypothesis/model testing.
  • Experience designing and running A/B tests and interpreting results.
  • Ability to implement and fine-tune machine learning algorithms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Prior experience working in technology and product-driven teams is a plus.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in personalization or other advanced ML problems.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Redshift.
